There will be NO Saturday morning class today 12/24 and NO Saturday class 12/31.

Saturday's in Wyndmoor are back in the game in the NEW YEAR-  1/7!

BUT...our Tuesdays classes, in Mt. Airy, are OPEN this month.  See you at class!!!

 What an amazing, spontaneous moment at the end of the concert!  All the children gathered around the piano with me.  I loved hearing their sweet little voices surrounding me.  Such love.

Album Art painted by Nathaniel Lee, a Master Painter with the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program.  Nate is an amazing artist!  I'm so incredibly fortunate to have Nate's beautiful and thoughtful and energetic work be the face of this project.  Go Nate!!!!

WOW wow WOW!! Still kinda floating around!!

What a SHOW!!!  WooHoo!!!

I'm SO THANKFUL and feel so blessed and humble and happy from yesterday's CD Release Show!!!  Thank you to all who gathered- and to those who couldn't make it- I feel you.  You were there in spirit!  I am with you.  I am so grateful for all your love and dance moves:)

WE DID IT!!!

After the show and all the hugs were handed out....I took Phoenix to my favorite smoothie place on Germantown Ave in Phila- The Juice Room.  I treated myself to 2 drinks- Blood Love and Che Che Smoothie (with peanut butter, bananas, and nutella).  I bought Phoenix a Che Che too!  We sat together and played tic tac toe until we ran through my little pocketbook notebook.  When we got home, I put my sweats on.  Matt was already napping on the sofa.  Phoenix joined Theo and Ruby as they watched a Netflix show.  I floated around for bit, I think.  I made some tea.  Ate some chocolate.  Ordered a pizza for the family.  Everything was quiet.  Then...I had to call my mom.  We both chatted on and on about the show and told stories and shared moments.  For some reason, it always feels a bit real-er when I talk to my mom:)  Lots of pictures were coming in and texts and I sat with it all with a massive smile on my face!  As I was putting Ruby to bed and reading a marathon of Fancy Nancy books- I heard my phone chiming with more texts.  I turned the phone off and finished the typical night routine until all three kids were tucked in bed.  I read the texts and answered as many as I could- happily!  I went to bed thinking about my CD walking around in someone else's hands- for the first time EVER- other than MINE!  ha!  I wonder and I hope these songs make you smile.

I am in love with my band mates: Alonzo Lister, Mariama O'Brien, Linda Regan, Ozzie Ozugurlu, Jeff Twardzik, Timothy Hill!!  You made the show extra sparkling special with your talents.  Thank you Aikens-Hill family for singing and setting up and being in the show!!!  AND Thank you to all the children who sang on stage!  and grown-ups!

Thank you Nathaniel Lee- the artist who created my CD art!!!!  I hope you received lots of hugs and high fives yesterday.  You're amazing.

And yesterday was awesome because of all of you.  You and your families are gifts to me.  I have written these songs with you in mind.  With your kids in mind.  We are in it together.

I hope you all feel my heart bursting your way- because it is!!!!

So, I'm going to cancel our saturday morning class because we are Putting On a SHOW!

you guys! My son, Theo, added the "pizzazz" to this flyer!! It is the happiest flyer I've ever seen! A few words about this CD coming your way... This album is full of my favorite sweet songs- made sweeter by the moments they are shared with you and your little ones. The musicians, the children, the parents, the engineer- all of them have made these songs come alive! but also- you and your children. Whether you were in the studio with me or not, you are a part of this work. It is so challenging to articulate my feelings here, but I will try! Many of these songs on this record have been with me for years and years, and some only recently. But regardless of the birthdate of these songs, they have shaped my heart and shaped my experiences with you. I feel like these songs have your little ones' energies preciously tied up together. They are forever living and breathing inside them :) I have to tell you about something during the recording sessions. I would have these "moments" or maybe "awarenesses" as we were laying down the tracks. I'd suddenly think of your children singing along or of them doing the bended knee bounce dance (haa!), or of you hugging them in your lap as you sang to them. It made the experience of recording this project SO magical!! It made me sing with a smile on my face. I pictured you all singing in the car. I'd see you dancing in the kitchen together. I'd imagine you quietly singing as you tucked them into bed. A quicker way to say this is- you were with me through the whole thing! I'm so grateful for every single one of you, you beautiful parents. We are all mucking our way through parenthood- and I feel so thankful to have music connect us and bring us to the moment. We all are the same. And I love that. I hope this CD brings you joy and can be a touchstone of this fleeting time with our little ones. "Everything is Gonna Be Alright" xo, g

Studio- Second Session!! so FUN!

O.K. so this was an impromtu choir opportunity I sprung upon them.  I knew they'd do this.  They did not.  And...they were amaaaazing!  They totally became an instant gang.  all love.  hee hee...i love my sneaky attacks:)))

rehearsal a couple nights before our studio session!  Alonzo is giving me double jazz hands with mini shakers.  He's a professional.

my Linda!!  This is Linda Regan- best friend and goddess of music.  We met in college and sang and danced together right from the start.  It was a total dream to do this together:))  You will hear her beautiful voice and feel her beautiful energy on "You're My Little One," "Firetruck," "Lovey," "Nobody's Perfect," and a few more!!!  thank u, Lin!
